We designed this silver-tone pendant in celebration of Valentina Tereshkova - she was the first woman to fly to space and the arrangement of shimmering ombré crystals on the charm denotes the date of her solo mission in 1963. It's perfect for layering, so use the extender chain to fasten it a few inches apart from other necklaces.
Our Valentina collection is a celebration of the first (and the youngest woman) in space: Valentina Tereshkova.
Valentina’s trip in 1963 lasted three days, and she circuited the Earth nearly fifty times. According to the story, Valentina was taking photographs of the planet from above when she radioed back down to tell her colleagues just one thing: “how beautiful the Earth is.” This collection features a scattering of stars that might appear random, but they represent the date that Valentina left Earth for her mission nearly 60 years ago.
